Police in Kabartonjo, Baringo County (Kenya), are investigating an incident where a 15-year-old boy was on Saturday evening found murdered and his eyes gouged out.
Confirming the incident, Baringo County Police Commander Robinson Ndiwa said the Standard Eight pupil at Kasesya Primary School had gone to do menial jobs at a neighbour’s house early Saturday morning.
After he was paid in the evening, he reportedly headed to a nearby trading centre where he had been sent by another neighbour to deliver some animal feeds but he delayed.
The said neighbour then resorted to following him, only to find his body lying in a pool of blood on the side of the road.
According to Mr. Ndiwa, the deceased had a deep cut on the back of his head, his eyes had been gouged out and his nose cut off.
“We are yet to establish the intention of the heinous act. We have commenced investigations, six suspects have been lined up to record statements and we will follow the matter to unravel the murder, ” he said.
The body of the deceased has been transferred to the Baringo County Referral Hospital in Kabarnet awaiting post-mortem.
