A Member of the Communication team of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Greater Accra Region, Lawrence Antwi better known as Abiola has sent a word of caution to Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, the newly chosen running mate for the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress,John Dramani Mahama.
He said equivocally after congratulating her on the appointment that the first female running mate of the biggest Opposition Party must take caution, being by the side of John Mahama, because everyone he has ever stood with has had to go through an ordeal.
Expressing his candid opinion during the ‘Dwenehobiom’ political show hosted by K.K on Accra-based Hot 93.9FM, he described the former Minister of Education as slothful in performance, even though she has a very commendable personality.
The NPP Communicator reprobated Pro.Naana Opoku Agyemang by alluding to her performance as the Minister of Education from 2012 to 2017. Having established that, he stated categorically that she cannot be of any great help to Ex-President John Mahama.
Revealing why the John Mahama and NDC chose the academician as running mate,Abiola alleged that the NDC could not achieve what had envisaged, and that is why they settled for the “mediocre former Minister of Education”.
He explained all that the members of the NDC who are known to have the political muscles and credibility to make significant impact declined the offer to become running mates of the Former President.
He alleged that those members of the party are only fighting for their reputation and do not want to be associated with the widely known corruptive nature of the former president, as purported during his four year term of office.
He asserted emphatically, “they are afraid that they will be tagged as corrupt, from the moment they attach themselves to him, because the man is corrupt…And that is why they had no other alternative than to settle for a Professor Jane Opoku Agyemang, who performed abysmally during her time as the Education Minister”.
