Host of “Maakye” morning show on Accra-based Hot 93.9FM,Boamah Darko has revealed why former MUSIGA president-turned-politician Bice Osei-Kuffour better known as Obour lost the Asante Akyem South Primary Parliamentary election.
Obour who had wanted to unseat the incumbent MP, Kwaku Asante-Boateng to lead the NPP in the constituency into the December 2020 parliamentary election– lost the primary by 68 votes. He managed 296 votes to trail behind the incumbent MP who secured 364 votes.
Speaking on his defeat, Obour attributed his inexperience in politics as a major contributor to his loss, stating “Kwaku Asante Boateng has shown that he is an experienced politician; he’s been in parliament two terms already and he is going to the third term”.
But exposing the actual motive behind Obour’s defeat in the election on his “Maakye’ morning show,Boamah Darko alleged that the incumbent MP Kwaku Asante –Boateng bribed the delegates with more money than Obour.
According to Boamah Darko ,Obour bribed each delegate with the sum of GHC1,500 while Hon.Kwaku Asante-Boateng also bribed each delegate with the Sum of GHC2,000.
