Ex-Electoral Commission Chairperson, Charlotte Osei, has reacted to the death of Former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe.
Robert Mugabe died at the age of 95.He died after battling ill health, his family confirmed to the BBC. Mr Mugabe had been in hospital in Singapore since April.
Charlotte Osei, reacting to the news of the demise of the former Zimbabwe’s leader via her Instagram page wrote:
“Uncle Bob is gone at age 95! Always seemed like he would live for ever. What a man! And what a very complicated legacy. May God grant him eternal rest. May God comfort his family and the people of Zimbabwe. May we learn the lessons we need to learn from his life. And may we now hear the truth about his real legacy 🙏🏾 #robertmugabe #zimbabwe”
Mr Mugabe was born on 21 February 1924, in what was then Rhodesia.
He was imprisoned for more than a decade without trial after criticising the government of Rhodesia in 1964.
In 1973, while still in prison, he was chosen as president of the Zimbabwe African National Union (Zanu), of which he was a founding member.
